PLENARY: How to Engage the Church as a Partner in the Work of Sexual Discipleship

Engaging the church in the work of sexual discipleship is difficult work. Engaging pastors seems to be even more challenging. And to be clear — it’s not that pastors are uninterested or unwilling to help. Rather, they are just incredibly busy individuals. They’re juggling sermon preparation, staff leadership, crisis care, and managing numerous requests for support from a variety of organizations every single week. This session aims to enhance your skills in effectively working with pastors and ministry leaders, as you equip the local church step into Her God given role to sexually disciple Her people.

Learning objectives:

1. Participants will be able to clearly articulate a ‘theology of the local Church.’
2. Participants will leave with a proper perspective and strategy on how to engage the Church.
3. Participants will leave with a greater desire to see the Church as a partner in this vital work we are called to.

BREAKOUT: Creating a Culture of Healing:

Embracing Sexual Brokenness in Everyday Discipleship

This workshop aims to equip pastors and church leaders to cultivate a church culture where conversations around sexual brokenness are safe, honest, and rooted in everyday discipleship. Moving beyond occasional programs and sermon series, we’ll explore how to integrate healing into the fabric of church life. Together, we’ll discover practical ways to model vulnerability, foster grace-filled spaces, and guide our congregations in the way of Jesus daily.

Learning objectives:

1. Participants will learn strategies for modeling vulnerability and transparency in pastoral leadership.
2. Participants will understand the importance of creating a culture that normalizes discussions about sexual brokenness within the church.
3. Participants will evaluate current church programs and practices to determine gaps in supporting people dealing with sexual brokenness.
