Thank you for applying to speak at the Sexual Integrity Leadership Summit. Our goal is to make the Summit an enjoyable and uplifting experience for all who attend. Accordingly, we ask that all of our Speakers agree to the following guidelines:
1. SILS is a Christ-centered event. I have read and agree with the SILS statement of faith as found here: https://sexualintegrityleaders.com/about-2/about-statement-of-faith/. I agree to not promote alternative religions, secular ideology, or nebulous spirituality that contradicts or confuses this statement. I further agree to contact Daniel Weiss immediately if I have any reservations or concerns about this statement or my participation in the Summit.
2. Focus on Solutions. I understand that I don’t need to spend much time highlighting the extent of the problem of sexual brokenness. People come to the Summit because they are already aware. Time is short and they want to learn what to do.
3. Be Personal. As much as I am able, I will share personal stories of both brokenness and healing that demonstrate safety in vulnerability and encourage others to embrace a similar stance in their own lives.
4. Be Sensitive. I understand that attendees will be impacted by personal experiences with brokenness and bring varied understandings of these topics to my workshop. I will strive to be sensitive to differing belief systems as I explain my opinion or point of view
5. Not Graphic. I understand that SILS deals with very sensitive and challenging topics related to sexuality. I will be mindful of how my words or presentation materials may trigger another person’s trauma and will refrain from graphic sexual descriptions or visuals.
6. Be Engaging. I understand that people will be moved by the shared experience of my workshop as well as the content I deliver. Therefore, I will strive to include interactive and dynamic elements in my presentation, including time for questions, group discussion, and personal reflection as appropriate.
7. Teach, Don’t Sell. I understand that the audience objects to presentations that feel like a sales pitch or are biased toward a particular product.
8. Encourage Pastors. SILS is focused on strengthening and building up the Christian Church and Her leaders. Therefore, I will take care not to attack or belittle pastors, Christian leaders, or the institution of the Church through my words or actions during the Summit. I will address matters of concern and disagreement with respect and love.
9. Don’t Attack. I will take care to not denigrate other organizations or Speakers at the Summit.
11. Be responsible. I bear the sole responsibility for securing the appropriate copyright and/or licensing for use of 3rd party video, photos, etc. in my presentation and offering credit for ideas that originated with someone else.
12. Promote. I will promote the Summit through social media, email, and organizational newsletters.
